Premio Nonino "autore italiano" 1992
Luigi Meneghello
With “Meredè, Meredè”, Luigi Meneghello continues in his inexhaustible search in the relations between the language of the borough, the language of the chief town and the national language. Started thirty years ago with the striking revelation of “Libera nos a Malo” and carried on with “Pomo pero” and “Bau-sete” (without forgetting the very good works “Piccoli maestri” and “Fiori italiani”), Meneghello’s work is another demonstration of how, in the balance among linguistics, irony and nostalgia, dialects are a fundamental part of cultural and human formation.
