Jean Jouzel
Jean Jouzel’s lucid prose describes the life, the hardships and the triumphs of those intrepid modern explorers who have bravely ventured onto the vast Antarctic Ice cap. He went there as a scientist and we owe them a great debt for the scientific information he gathered, information that reveals in full detail the Earth’s climate and atmosphere for much of the past million years. From this we now have a better chance of predicting the climate and our fate on the now endangered Earth, considering also the sad conclusion of the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
We badly need scientists like Jean Jouzel to make familiar to everyone this epic story of exploration and as importantly explain in simple understandable words the arcane science of the message brought back.
His works are published by Odile Jacob and Dunod Editeur.
