The Jury of the Nonino Risit d’Aur Prize, created Thirty years ago to highlight the merits of rural society, presided over by Ermanno Olmi and comprising Ulderico Bernardi, Benito and Giannola Nonino, has awarded the 30th Risit d’Âur (Golden Vine) Prize:
THE NONINO RISIT D’AUR PRIZE 2005 For the protection of the stable grass-lands of Friuli on the way of extinction
The Nonino Risit d’Aur Prize, now in its 30th year, is symbolically awarded to Silvia Assolari and Elisa Tomat, researchers at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Udine, who, with their sensibility, research and scientific knowledge are fighting for the protection of the biodiversity specific of the territory, which proposes its identity also in the wonder of “… a common grass-land, where in the good season there is a lot of blooming, growing, crawling, trotting, flying, digging and swarming …”.
