On May 6 th, 2002 in Bobigny, in the Parisian banlieue, a freedom flower blossomed: the “House of journalists” in exile. The “Maison des Journalistes” was born from solidarity that is essential among who freely follow the job of information and who are persecuted because they carry out exactly the same job. The Nonino Prize wishes that other Houses may rise all over the world, Italy included. But at the same time that they are not needed anymore, as a proof of a world free from any kind of abuse and from any kind of racial, sexual, cultural and religious discrimination.
